More on what publishers want…

The loverly Sarah Webb has put up her notes from the Irish Pen, New Kids on the Block night a few weeks ago. If you fancy getting your oar into the Irish children’s world then I’d recommend a read.

First up is Paddy O’Doherty (editor at Puffin Ireland – who was here in the not so distant past)

There is no difference between literary and commercial books to me – if they are good that’s all that matters. We have 80 submissions at the moment – and some have potential. We want well written, original books with an original voice, a sense of control, a sense that the author knows what they are doing, a sense of authority.

Enjoy!
