Last Saturday’s Guardian ran an excerpt from Philip Pullman’s new book Once Upon a Time in the North – about how a younger Lee Scoresby, Hester and lorek Brynison first met.

Not to long indeed, laid my hands on a copy this afternoon as a matter of fact. (Easons in Liffey Valley if you’re not bothered waiting till next Thursday)It was €10.99 though which seems pricey for such a little thing…
